ABOUT OUR CENTRE
BACKGROUND
The Rongton Buddhist Centre is part of a national network of centres established under the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, and has Lama Choedak Rinpoche as its spiritual head.
Established in 2004, the Rongton Buddhist Centre was named after a celebrated 15th century Tibetan Buddhist scholar, Rongton Sheja Kunrig, who also founded the renowned Nalendra monastery outside Tibet's capital, Lhasa.
Our centre offers Introduction to Calm Abiding Meditation classes, for those who wish to discover and develop their inner potential. There is also weekly C.A. meditation for those who wish to continue practising in a group setting. Calm Abiding meditation is suitable for all.
For those who wish to explore the Buddhist path we have a Buddhadharma discourse and discussion on Sunday evenings. The centre also holds a weekly programme of other Buddhist practices such as White Tara and Chenrezig practice. For more details regarding our programme, please click on our "Practice" page.
Rongton Buddhist Centre holds annual Calm Abiding Meditation Retreats in Brisbane, led by Lama Choedak Rinpoche. Rinpoche visits our centre approximately three times annually. Rongton Buddhist Centre also facilitates teachings from ordained Sangha throughout the year. Details of these and other events are posted on our "Noticeboard".
